Inspirational section creation
A content system for spiritual inspiration inside a live meditation app—structured, calm, and built for daily practice.
Context
I initiated this volunteer-led meditation app to give practitioners a digital space for guided content, podcasts, quotes, and reflections.
I led experience design and content strategy—shaping architecture, visual language, and educational materials across the product.
The core challenge: organise existing institutional content in a way that feels modern and resonates with younger audiences on mobile.
My role
Lead designer & content strategist
Main contributions

- Visual system & components
- Copywriting & content
- Spiritual curation
Team — Volunteer-based, multidisciplinary.
Problem framing
Practitioners often struggle to:
- Maintain consistency over months and years.
- Find relevant, trustworthy inspiration.
- Weave reflection into an already busy day.
Most meditation apps centre on sessions—not on structured space for learning and reflection.
How might we motivate users, deepen practice, and keep the experience simple and calm?
Structure & strategy
Inspire works as a modular content hub—not a content dump.
Principles
- Clarity over abundance.
- Spiritual consistency with meditation values.
- Progressive discovery—explore at your own pace.
- Emotional calm reinforced through visuals.
Content types
- Short podcasts & spiritual talks
- Inspirational quotes
- Reflection prompts
- Book recommendations
Information architecture
Four layers, designed to scale without redesign:
- Home / highlights
- Content categories
- Individual content view
- Reflection & sharing
User flow
- Open Inspire tab
- Choose a category
- Browse curated items
- Consume audio or text
- Save or share an insight
- Return to meditation practice
Minimal friction between learning and sitting—continuity by design.
Low-fidelity and wireframes
Wireframes prioritised:
- Content hierarchy
- Navigation patterns
- Reading & listening comfort
- Button placement & accessibility
Function before aesthetics—validate usability early, polish later.
High fidelity screens
The final interface prioritises calm, clarity, and focus.
Visual principles
- Soft gradients & natural imagery
- Balanced, readable typography
- Limited palette, spacious layouts
- Minimal visual noise
Design outcomes
- Improved discoverability
- Reduced cognitive load
- Emotional alignment with practice
- Consistent language across sections
