Terms of Service

Gaydex is an educational LGBTQ+ knowledge companion. It offers free and Plus articles, Explore search and guides, quizzes, a glossary, intimacy / position guides, community news (“Read the Room” and related insights), lifestyle tools (including Date Log and Health Companion for Plus), Gayout 101 and etiquette content, Spill the tea community posts, optional topic ideas for our editorial backlog, and optional AI answers via Ask Gaydex—meant for learning and reflection.

Gaydex is not a dating app, clinic, pharmacy, therapist, lawyer, or emergency service. Content is general information, not personalized medical, mental-health, or legal advice.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Gaydex. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.

Use Gaydex for personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, scrape content at scale, reverse engineer protected parts of the app, circumvent purchase or access controls, or use Ask Gaydex or community features to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content.

You are responsible for how you apply what you read. Decisions about health, relationships, sex, substances, travel, and safety remain yours.

We may apply fair-use limits (for example Ask session caps, Spill the tea share caps, or topic-request rate limits) to protect the service and other users.

Some features require a purchase. Gaydex Plus is available as a monthly or 6-month subscription, or as Gaydex Forever (a one-time lifetime unlock). You can also unlock individual Plus articles with a one-time purchase. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google through RevenueCat. On some Android builds, checkout may open an in-app browser to a RevenueCat web purchase link instead of Play Billing. Pricing and billing details are shown before you buy.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel in your device’s App Store or Google Play account settings. Gaydex Forever and individual article unlocks do not renew. Refunds are governed by Apple’s or Google’s policies (or the applicable web checkout provider’s policies when web purchase is used).

Restoring purchases may restore Plus or Forever entitlements tied to your store account. Individual article unlocks are granted at purchase and kept in a local unlock list on your device; Restore Purchases does not re-claim those à-la-carte unlocks.

You may optionally submit a short first-person note about an article. Submissions are reviewed before they appear publicly. Do not include other people’s private information, illegal content, spam, or harassment. We may refuse, reject, or remove submissions.

Approved notes may be shown with the display name you provide, or without a name if you leave that field blank. Community notes reflect individual experiences, not Gaydex medical or legal advice.

You may optionally share a short anonymous “Is it just me?” or confession with the community (Spill the tea). Free accounts get 16 shares; after that, Gaydex Plus is required (up to 3 shares a day). Posts are moderated with AI before they appear publicly. Adult sexual language between consenting adults is allowed; do not include minors in sexual contexts, doxxing or other people’s private information, threats, hate, spam, or harassment. We may refuse, reject, or remove submissions, and other users may report posts.

If a post is approved, Gaydex may show your text with an AI reply and a randomized avatar that is not tied to your name. Rejected posts are not shown publicly. By submitting, you grant Gaydex a non-exclusive license to host, moderate, and display that post and reply in connection with the app.

You may optionally send a short topic idea for future articles. Submissions go to our editorial backlog and are not published as public posts. Do not include other people’s private information, illegal content, spam, or harassment. We may ignore, refuse, or delete ideas, and rate limits may apply.

Ask Gaydex may send your prompts and related context to OpenAI through our backend so answers can be generated. Free use includes a limited number of trial sessions; Gaydex Plus includes additional daily session and message caps shown in the app. AI responses can be incomplete or wrong. Do not rely on them for diagnosis, treatment, crisis support, or legal guidance.

We ask for your permission before sharing Ask data with OpenAI. You can also control this with the Send AI setting. When Send AI is off, questions stay on your device and OpenAI-powered answers are not used.

Gaydex may open third-party websites (for example community news sources or web checkout) in an in-app browser. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices. Optional share cards (such as myths or insights) are created on your device and shared through your system share sheet; Gaydex does not upload those images to our servers as part of sharing.

Gaydex, its branding, illustrations, and app content are owned by Gaydex or its licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or republish our materials without permission, except for personal use within the app.

If you submit a community note, a Spill the tea post, or a topic idea, you grant Gaydex a non-exclusive license to host, moderate, review, and—where applicable—display that content in connection with the app and editorial work.

The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that content is complete, current, or suitable for every situation.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Gaydex is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or reliance on its content.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Gaydex after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
